Accessible Library<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

General Information<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library supports access to its spaces, services and resources for people with accessibility needs, including people with disabilities. These measures are intended to enable users to use the Library as independently, comfortably and safely as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support covers three main areas: architectural accessibility, assistance in using collections and information sources, and organisational solutions facilitating research, teaching and individual study. Library staff provide support, taking into account users\u2019 individual needs and the nature of the materials they are looking for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Architectural Accessibility<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both entrances to the Library <\/strong>\u2014 the main entrance from Wielka Street, located in Building U, and the side entrance from the university campus, located in Building W \u2014 are equipped with ramps providing <\/strong>access for wheelchair users. Next to the entrance to Building W, on the university campus, there is a designated parking space for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building U<\/strong> has a<\/strong> lift enabling <\/strong>users to move independently between the Library floors. The lift is adapted to the needs of people with mobility impairments and is also equipped with facilities for blind and partially sighted people, including voice announcements and buttons marked in Braille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0upper\u00a0floors\u00a0of\u00a0Building\u00a0W\u00a0can\u00a0be\u00a0accessed\u00a0by\u00a0an\u00a0internal\u00a0lift. <\/strong>To\u00a0use\u00a0this\u00a0lift,\u00a0please\u00a0contact\u00a0the Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library spaces are step-free <\/strong>and adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Accessible toilets <\/strong>for people with disabilities are available on every floor of Building U<\/strong>, and the library service desks are adapted for wheelchair users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Induction loops<\/strong> are available on two floors<\/strong> of the Library to support communication with people using hearing aids or receivers compatible with the system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support in Using Library Resources and Services<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library provides support in using printed and electronic collections, library catalogues, databases, and workstations and rooms designated for individual study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
