Oxford debates

On April 2, 9 and 16, 2025, the Library hosted a series of Oxford debates on various issues related to the functioning of the European Union. The events were organized by the Center for European Documentation (within the Main Library) and with Team Europe Direct (UEW) in cooperation with invited representatives of the University of the Third Age.

In 6 debates, 2 groups of 4 UEW students each , after short introductory presentations, represented two opposing positions on issues such as regional funds, export promotion or EU support for SMEs. The whole thing was judged by a large audience and a jury composed of representatives of UEW. The order of the debates was supervised in the roles of marshal and secretary by employees of the Main Library.
