As of July 7th, the EBSCOhost and EBSCO Discovery Service platforms are now available in a new version. This update introduces changes designed to make it easier to use databases, find relevant materials, and manage saved results. Below are the key new features.
The most important changes include:
- New main menu – the navigation bar has been moved from the left panel to the top of the page, allowing for more space dedicated to displaying search results.
- Relocated user dashboard – features such as search history, saved records, and projects (Dashboard) have been integrated into the MyEBSCO menu, available in the top panel. Users who have not previously used a personal account will be prompted to create one.
- Improved filter panel – the panel for narrowing search results (e.g., full text, publication type) is still located on the left side, but has been expanded. Users can choose whether to expand or collapse it by default. Search results pagination – the previous “Show more results” button has been replaced with the classic results pagination.
- More custom links – the number of external links (CustomLinks) has been increased from 4 to 10.
